Social responsibility and commitment to community have been priorities at INDUS. During 2012, INDUS and our employees donated and collected money and more importantly, dedicated hundreds of hours of service to our communities supporting a variety of causes. Hats off to all those employees who walked, ran, and biked for various charities.
Making Strides and Buddy Walk
According to American Cancer Society’s website, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk attracts 8 million walkers to participate in more than 270 communities across the country, raising more than $460 million to fight breast cancer. INDUS employees are certainly among them.
By participating in Making Strides, INDUS employees joined others in 2012 to help raise funds towards cancer research, free lodging and rides for breast cancer patients and simply help survivors celebrate more birthdays.
INDUS employees also participated in “Buddy Walk” held at George Mason University in October 2012 to raise money for children with Down syndrome.
Working together with ACT-IAC, INDUS initiated a Coat Drive at our Corporate Headquarters in October 2012. INDUS employees cheerfully participated and donated thousands of dollars’ worth of coats, scarves and gloves.
Food Drive and SOME
Partnering with the Reston Interfaith church, INDUS initiated a Food Drive to provide all types of fresh food for the disadvantaged during December 2012, including cereals, canned food, pastries, oatmeal etc. to make the holidays very special for everyone.
The INDUS Team on our Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) contract also participated in “So Others Might Eat (SOME)” project to help the homeless and the needy in the Washington D.C. metro area.
Many thanks go out to all our INDUS FHWA contract staff who pooled their resources and made this drive a great success.
