As part of our longstanding support of U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Office of Water programs, INDUS assisted EPA in developing an innovative and practical mobile app called “How is My Waterway”. Recently, GCN recognized this tool as one of the top innovative applications across all the federal government agencies.
“How is My Waterway” allows citizens to find out if the waterways close to where they live, travel, camp, or fish, are polluted and if so, to what extent in a simplistic and user-friendly fashion. GCN writes,” Concerned about a local stream where the dog likes to swim? Enter the ZIP code into the site’s Choose a Location search window and it will return a list of rivers, streams and lakes in the area. Click on the stream’s name for the report. Want to know about a lake that’s right in front of you? Type the lake’s name into the app on a smartphone, or use the site’s Use My Location option, and, if the phone’s HTML 5 geolocation feature is authorized, the site will find the device, identify the lake and return the results”.
INDUS congratulates Brad Cooper, Steve Andrews and their team who are behind this successful application. To read the entire article, please visit: http://gcn.com/Articles/2013/10/22/GCN-Award-EPA-Waterways.aspx?s=gcntech_231013&Page=1
